Pinnacle: There are a lot of wealth management firms in the U.S. What first drew you to Pinnacle?
Jeff: I wanted to find a place to work that was client-centered, and offered comprehensive financial planning and risk-managed investing. In other words, I was looking for the kind of firm where I would want to place my own money. When I came across Pinnacle, I knew I’d found what I was looking for.
David: I first read an article by Michael Kitces and Ken Solow in the Journal of Financial Planning some years ago. The article impressed me and I could tell these were smart people. I went to their website and did some more research. It was clear that their loyalty was to their clients first, and that really drew me.
How has your role changed over the years?
David: I was brought on initially to help Ken Solow with his clients. When Ken stepped back from Wealth Management duties about five years ago, I took over as the primary advisor.
Jeff: My role hasn’t changed much, except that in the past few years I’ve been more involved in orienting and mentoring newer advisors.
Why did you decide to partner with Pinnacle?
Jeff: I’m committed to the firm and wanted to help direct Pinnacle’s growth and development. To do that, I needed to take on a bigger leadership role and have a hand in the management of the organization.
David: It was the same with me. I like being here at Pinnacle and this is where I want to spend my career. I also want to be a part of the future decision making for the firm, and believe I have something to contribute in that regard.
Will your new status change your role or duties?
David: Not with clients. I’ll be more involved in the management and strategic direction of the firm, but there will be no change to my day to day work.
Jeff: I’ve joined the Executive Team and the Management Team and have responsibilities to each, but it won’t affect my client work in any way.
What does the future look like for Pinnacle?
David: I think the future looks great. While the planning and investing landscape is changing, we’re always doing our best to stay at the forefront of the industry. We’re constantly growing and improving, and continue to add talented, forward-looking employees to our team.
Jeff: Yes, I agree. We’re improving in every way, with enhanced client service, technology, and staff. And we’re well structured to handle growth. The future is bright at Pinnacle, and we’re excited to be a part of it.
