How did you get into financial services?
I had two good friends who were in the financial service industry and thought I would be a good fit at their company. They both knew that I was interested in investments and that I had many of the relationship skills that were necessary to work in financial services. After their encouragement, I pursued a position with their firm and worked as an Advisor to the employees of one of our local healthcare systems.
What makes a good financial planner?
I think first and foremost is the ability to listen. Being able to truly listen and understand what your clients are trying to achieve is the key in making those things become a reality.
What do you do for fun?
When I am not working, I most enjoy spending time with my wife Jennifer and our four children. My time with my family brings me more fun and joy than anything else. I especially enjoy our family trips that we take several times a year. Outside of my family time, I enjoy golf and following my favorite sports teams – the Terps and the Redskins.
